Testing Engineer for Reliability

Permanent employee, Full-time · Adliswil

Your mission

We are looking for a Testing Engineer for Reliability to join our dynamic and cross-functional team in the field of high-speed photonics. You will play a key role in the development, testing, and reliability analysis of photonic integrated circuits and plasmonic modulators. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, identifying failure mechanisms and implementing solutions, which ensure the optimal performance and reliability of products.

  • Tools and Automation Development: Develop, automate and maintain reliability testing methods for photonic integrated circuits and plasmonic modulators, including assessment of optical, thermal, and electrical performance over time.

  • Reliability Testing: Plan and execute industry-standard reliability tests, such as accelerated life and environmental stress testing for product lifecycle under real-world application conditions.

  • Lifetime prediction: Perform data analysis for reliability trends and lifetime prediction.

  • Cross-Functional Teams Collaboration: Cooperate with the development team to monitor and execute reliability validation plans for new photonic integrated circuit products, aligning with product characteristics and customer requirements.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Visualize results and write detailed reliability testing reports. Prepare comprehensive executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Leadership: Manage own tasks and projects within the process engineering team. Manage expectations of different stakeholders. Supports reliability assurance and product development team in identifying failure mechanisms and proposing improvements.

Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree in quality engineering, material science, reliability engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline.

  • Hands-on experience with optical and electrical high-frequency characterization of photonic or electronic devices.

  • Experience in the development and the analysis of optical or electronic
    systems.

  • Hands-on experience developing automated test software, with proficiency in Python.

  • Experience in a reliability-focused role, specifically in the field of photonics or electrical components.

  • Experience of failure mechanisms, reliability engineering principles, and statistical process control.

  • Previous experience in agile project management methods (e.g. SAFe, Scrum,…) is a nice-to-have.
